HMD Global typically releases a new flagship Nokia phone on a yearly basis. Previously, the Nokia 9 PureView was held back in 2018 due to challenges that arose from its five-camera rear setup. Now, it seems the newest version of the phone, the Nokia 9.3 PureView, could be following in its predecessor’s footsteps.

PhoneArena reports that Nokia Anew received insider confirmation that HMD Global has decided to delay the Nokia 9.3 PureView, just like the previous version. The delay would place its new release date squarely within the first half of 2021, though there doesn’t appear to be any confirmed launch date at present.

Nokia Anew doesn’t seem to have any additional information on why the delay is happening, though, like the original PureView’s camera woes.

It was planned for release with the Snapdragon 865 processor, but a delay into 2021 means that could change. It’s rumored to include a 6.7-inch P-OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an under-screen camera. GSMArena reports it will feature a similar Penta-camera setup, and a 5000mAh battery that supports fast wireless charging. It will come in two colors: blue or black.

HMD Global has yet to release a statement regarding any possible delay, so it’s best to take this news with a grain of salt, but time for a 2020 release date is fast running out.
