Instagram is celebrating users who support small businesses and donate to nonprofits this Giving Tuesday.

After the gift-buying frenzy of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday, today marks a transformation from consumerism to philanthropy. And Instagram wants to highlight those acts of generosity.

Accounts you follow that use the “Donation” or “I Donated” sticker today will appear in a shared “Giving Tuesday” story, in hopes of encouraging more people to contribute. “The holiday season will look different this year, from how we gather with friends and family, to ways we’re giving back to our community,” the social network said in a blog announcement.

Need some inspiration? Check out the official Instagram and Creators accounts to see everyday folks making a difference and sharing tips on how to help, “whether it’s through volunteering, making donations, or simply making a kind gesture to someone in need,” the blog said.

Since 2012, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving has been earmarked for benevolence. Giving Tuesday is the brainchild of Chicago’s non-profit Mary-Arrchie Theater Company and then-producing director Carlo Lorenzo Garcia, who urged consumers to consider donating to charity after completing their holiday shopping. Last year, an estimated $1.97 billion was raised through online and offline contributions; $120 million of that came from Instagram parent company Facebook, which matched the first $7 million donated.

“From The Conscious Kid using their platform to promote racial equality in education to Danielle Coke raising money to create allyship artwork for educators across the US to small businesses like Expedition Subsahara selling authentic African goods by African artists to fund a girls’ STEAM school in Senegal, we’re excited to see our community extend these efforts through Giving Tuesday,” Instagram said.

Moving forward, the social media site will begin testing a more permanent way for users to create and share fundraisers for nonprofits directly within their feed. And you can keep showing your love for small businesses on Instagram using the “Support Small Business” or “Buy Black” Stories stickers, highlighting shops and creators, and ordering food directly from local restaurants.
