Guerrilla Games has just released Patch 1.10 for Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, and with it fixed crashes and improved performance. However, don’t expect future patches to appear so frequently.
Anyone playing Horizon Zero Dawn on PC will have noticed how quickly Guerilla has been pushing out patches and improving the experience. We’ve had a new patch at least once a month for quite some time, with 1.06 appearing in October, 1.07 and 1.08 arrived in November, and 1.09 appeared in December. As IGN reports though, the situation changes following 1.10.
“As our team continues development on our upcoming title Horizon Forbidden West, we are shifting to less frequent updates for Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition for PC after this patch,” Guerrilla explained in a statement this week. “Please note that we will continue to monitor our community spaces as always!”
The game is in a stable state on PC, with Patch 1.10 only fixing two crashes, implementing one performance enhancement, and offering a handful of graphical improvements. Less frequent patches aren’t going to make much difference to exploring and enjoying the huge world on offer.
Horizon Forbidden West is set to continue the story started by Zero Dawn and is expected to release for PS5 and PS4 before the end of 2021. It seems likely Sony will eventually release it for PC, too, but don’t hold your breath. There was a three year gap between the release of Zero Dawn on PS4 and PC.
